An Olive Branch

People have told me I am kinda excitable.

In this post, I want to offer to my political opponents, a true opportunity for reconciliation.

Hillary was a bad candidate. As president, she would have been competent...but that is not the same thing as being great. Furthermore, I believe she would have perpetuated the anger/polarization of American politics...and I admit that this anger and polarization was present long before Traitor-Trump came on the scene.

Despite what I have written in earlier posts, I admit now that if you voted for Trump...then it is possible that you are not a deplorable idiot.

Maybe you were a single-issue voter and the composition of the Supreme Court meant everything to you. I'll accept that as a good intention...but not a good way to use your precious vote. Single issue voting (for guns or against abortion or whatever) is a lazy way to vote.
If we accidentally kick off a war in Korea, it could likely kill more people than all the abortions in America for many...many... past years.
And...if the oceanic currents stop flowing due to massive injections of cold freshwater into our oceans...then...the entire fish trade is threatened or diminished. Fish are the primary source of protein for most of the people in the world. Millions and millions will die if we screw up the environment.
A responsible vote must consider all issues.
A responsible pro-life vote must consider all lives.

Maybe you were just fooled. Trump is a powerful speaker. (like Hitler) Anyone can make a mistake. Mistakes can be forgiven...if they are admitted.

Maybe it was Populism that appealed to you. Populism is a rather idealistic concept...it is almost quaint...but thoroughly impractical and dangerous...so easily manipulated.
Outsiders do not make good Oil Tanker Captains.
Outsiders do not make good Surgeons.
Outsiders do not make good Teachers, Chefs, Carpenters, Engineers or Train Conductors.
It is not romantic to admit that politics...governance...is a profession. But it is mature to admit it.
We may yearn for the sentimental image of "Honest Abe the Rail-Splitter, born in a log cabin", but...Lincoln was a lawyer and a very shrewd politician.
Yeah...Populism is fun, but not mature.
And here's the real kicker...Traitor-Trump is not a Populist...not even close.

So...if you voted for Trump and you regret it, then you are forgiven.

And if you voted for Traitor-Trump and you still don't regret it...then you are a deplorable idiot.

Trump is not Republican, not conservative, not populist, not Christian, not patriotic, not honest, and not the "Law and Order" candidate.

He is a selfish and cowardly traitor...nothing more.
